Move Reflects Increasing Growth Prospects for MHPS in the Region

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA – (APRIL18, 2017) Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas (MHPS Americas) has announced the appointment of Alexandre Aoki as President & CEO of MHPS South America.  The announcement was made at an MHPS technical meeting in Buenos Aires that was attended by over 100 energy industry professionals.

“South America continues to be a critical market for MHPS and naming Alex Aoki as President & CEO of MHPS South America reflects our commitment to meeting the needs of our customers in the region,” said Paul Browning, President & CEO of MHPS Americas. “MHPS is bringing an air cooled J-Series Advanced Class Gas Turbine for South America that is the world's most reliable and most efficient gas turbine that we expect will fuel further growth in the market. We see a significant need in the region for increased capacity from reliable, clean power plants.”

Alex Aoki added “We are committed and focused to support our customers and countries with the most efficient, flexible and reliable gas turbines in this fast growing region for energy infrastructure.”

Aoki joined MHPS  Americas as Regional Sales Vice President Power Generation based in Sao Paulo, Brazil earlier this year. Prior to that he had worked at GE Gas Power in San Paulo since 2002. Aoki holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Escola Politernia da USP in Sao Paulo. He earned his MBA from Fundacao Instituto de Administracao (FIA Business School).
