Responsible for defining gas turbine and auxiliary component configurations. This includes developing the system interfaces, data exchange architecture, business process coordination and improvements necessary to provide and maintain an effective understanding of the Gas Turbine (GT) fleet that are sold and / or serviced by Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas, Inc. (MHPSA).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect, analyze, summarize and understand business requirements and accordingly develop configuration specifications to define GT configuration for procurement release and assembly build. Maintain GT configuration during assembly process, by reviewing, communicating, and implementing engineering design changes that occur during assembly process.
Review, analyze, and summarize proposed engineering change requests and communicate directly with design team on issues and implementation timing.
Review and recommend changes to configuration management processes; develop process improvements to automate and streamline processes. Work to resolve configuration management problems and suggest modifications to process to resolve future problems.
Provide technical support for system design, testing and implementation activities to support ongoing Technical Data Integration efforts within MHPSA. Identify shortcomings and missed information that result in business inefficiencies. Apply the principles from industry best practices and remain current on industry and technical skills in the areas of configuration management.
Development and structure teams from inside and outside of MHPSA to address the identified issues and develop solutions that can be implemented to foster increased business efficiencies. Support those teams as they develop design, testing and implementation plans.
Collect and consolidate corporate baseline of GT installations supported by MHPSA. Study the aspects of equipment interchangeability and upgrade planning. Develop process improvements that support both the business and engineering teams in rapid access to accurate and current information regarding installation configuration.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION
BS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited college or university; knowledge of system engineering including mechanical with a preference for candidates having familiarity with manufacturing processes and planning methods and Enterprise Resource Planning systems, e.g., SAP,. Gas Turbine flange to flange exp. is preferred. Turbomachinery exp. and PLM Systems exp. (i.e. Windchill, TeamCenter) is a MUST.
